There’s only one thing better than yoga: FREE yoga. Here’s a round-up of free yoga events in and around London this summer.

1) Hilltop yoga festival – Guildford

Sunday 12th June 2016, 3-9.30pm. The Chantries, Guildford.

To celebrate the two year anniversary of their Guildford store, lululemon is hosting a free Hilltop Yoga festival at the top of The Chantries campsite in Guildford. A lovely spot for yoga with spectacular views reaching as far as the South Downs.

The line up includes Ashtanga, Vinyasa and ‘Good Vibrations Yoga’. With live music, food (or bring your own picnic) and s’mores around the campfire.

2) International yoga day – Alexandra Palace

19th June 2016, all day. Alexandra Palace, London.

To celebrate International Yoga Day, OM Yoga is hosting a whole day of free yoga and meditation in the grounds of Alexandra Palace.

You can count on brilliant teachers and a lots of variety when OM is organising. There will be plenty of classes for all experience levels – a great opportunity to introduce someone new to yoga. This beautiful venue will also host the OM Yoga Show later in the year.

3) Free yoga in the park – Hertfordshire

Saturday 25th June , 10-11am. Braughing, Hertfordshire.

I’m hosting a free park yoga session this summer in our local park. Venture out of the city for the day and join us in the Hertfordshire countryside for a dynamic flow session suitable for all levels. Hopefully the weather will be kind and we can down dog in the sunshine. If not, we’ll use the community centre. Tea, cake and yoga chat after.

4) Third space fitness festival – Canary Wharf

Thursday and Sunday mornings June/July. Crossrail Place Roof Garden, Canary Wharf.

Worth going to check out the venue alone. Third Space is a luxury fitness club hosting free sessions throughout the summer as part of their fitness festival. The yoga sessions are being held on the roof garden at their Canary Wharf centre. Dynamic flow sessions suitable for all levels.

5) Sahaja yoga meditation – multiple locations

Founded in 1970, Sahaja Yoga now have free meditation sessions in a host of venues across London.

Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple practice, rooted in the concepts of the energetic body and self realisation. The meditation is usually done sitting in a chair, so no need to worry about sitting in lotus for an hour.
