Often we think that self-criticism and being hard on ourselves is the key to success. However, recent research is proving that not only is this untrue, these traits are actually standing in the way of our happiness.
Modern science is confirming what the ancient wisdom of the yogis has known for centuries: that being kind to ourselves makes us happier and healthier. Our emotional life, stress reactivity and how we deal with set-backs, depends on our ability to be compassionate towards ourselves.
In this one-hour workshop, we’ll explore how we can befriend our inner critics and be gentler and more resilient in the face of failure. We’ll intersperse our group discussion with mindfulness practices and begin to build a safe space for self-care and compassion to develop within us.
